UP SCUMBAG! UP SCUMBAG!
up scumbag! up scumbag!

when i notice that people i vaguely know online have what seem to be these really outrageously exciting/dramatic and well-heeled lives (actually, i think it's more that they have access to everything they want for, financially and physically, and can live out whatever they wish to), it is nice to remind myself that i still have real friends who are real people who like me for me. and who aren't too afraid or whatever to get their hands dirty with me in our lives.

...our little insignificant lives in rented rooms that are falling apart, just like squats but with carpet. we scavenge and fossick for our food, we reuse everything. forever. we are removed from any sort of important economy. we subsist. we have not enough to access enough medicine or healthcare but we look after one another so it's ok. we share old sewing machines, we share old bread we find in dumpsters. we make fun out of nothing. we dream big and live real. we don't need to be scene to be of value. we live loudly and actively. supremely no bullshit, no pretense. just ourselves. we're not beautiful like you, but we know beauty in each other, and the earth, truly.

REMEMBER: SMALL VICTORIES MATTER. LIFE IS NOT A COMPETITION.

ps. thanks b for bringing me back down to earth after last night's dream. and happy birthday, oh beautiful one. love.

Just having life is so important. In many ways, I believe that by living a hard existence you are making the most of learning from experience. Being able to appreciate your circumstances is the most wonderful thing. :)
